Before......a very basic piston system was prepared for. ......didn't do me any favours at all.......

Had to fit the lower keyboard in-situ.....challenging.......

Fitting new pistons.....these little units are made by Peterson, Illinois. Reasonably easy to fit, they're just lovely. They look good, feel good, are robust, reliable, compact and affordable. At just 17mm deep they house a reed switch......giving inherent hysterisis that's all-important to avoid a double-contact in the one action......vital for when using a reverser, stepper (as in this case) or sequencer.....they're also impossible to set off accidently; wonderful little things.

Then for the tabs........here's the old name-board, as was........

And then a new set of nice tab units from Peterson in Illinois.....lovely products.

To finish, a nice simple digital display to accommodate the stepper - on the left shows the last general pressed and on the right the memory level. We capped it at 99 levels, so 99 x 8 = 792 possible settings......plenty for most people......if they wish for more, we can fire up the missing digit and allow for 999 levels, but I imagine the need for this will be unlikely.
